Drawing on careers that span global manufacturing, equipment development, and capital deployment, the team combines a deep technical understanding of semiconductor processes with sharp financial acumen. Their experiences in scaling companies, executing mergers and acquisitions, and investing in breakthrough technologies laid the foundation for establishing Intrinsic Investments LP. The creation of the fund reflects the founders’ shared conviction: that critical enabling technologies — materials, equipment, and infrastructure innovations — will be the key drivers of semiconductor industry advancement in the decades ahead. Our Team

Johannes Froehling

Johannes Froehling serves as General Partner has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, working across the full supply chain—from equipment manufacturers to foundries and integrated device manufacturers. He has lived and worked in Germany, the US, China, and Japan. Since 2017, he has operated independently, investing in semiconductor technologies and advising on M&A transactions. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a degree in Semiconductor Engineering from Germany.

Molly McAuliffe

Molly McAuliffe serves as Fund Administrator handles the compliance, operations, and investor relations for Intrinsic. McAuliffe has over 25 years of experience in establishing corporate infrastructure, strategic planning, and finance for start-ups and venture capital firms in Silicon Valley. McAuliffe serves as the right hand to Founders as they build their business. Additionally, McAuliffe oversaw marketing, events, and media relations for American Express, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, YES Network, and several non-profits in New York City. McAuliffe’s personal interests include wine, and she has owned a California winery and currently imports wine from Armenia and Europe.

Olivia Rubin

Olivia Rubin serves as an Investment Analyst at Intrinsic Investments LP. She supports the evaluation of new investment opportunities and assists with financial modeling for portfolio companies. Olivia conducts market research to monitor industry trends and contributes to Limited Partner communications. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
